Sandvik opens Asia Pacific HQ for O&G in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Sweden-based advanced stainless steels developer and manufactur­er Sandvik has opened its Asia Pacific headquarte­rs for oil and gas (O&G) tube in the capital.

Inastateme­ntyesterda­y,Sanvik said with increased optimism returning to the internatio­nal oil and gas industry, the growth potential of the Asian region, led by countries such as Malaysia, and the opportunit­ies that could bring to the industry on a global scale, had been recognised.

It said Malaysia is one of the largest and most dynamic oil and gas producers in Southeast Asia, contributi­ng between 20 per cent and 30 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product and housing over 3,500 internatio­nal and local companies.

Marketing manager, Oil and Gas, Asia Pacific Benno Wagner said the new headquarte­rs would enable the company to provide better local support to customers and increase delivery of products and services to companies operating around Malaysia.

“It incorporat­es a new service centre for control lines that provides end-to-end control lines solutions such as warehousin­g facilities, plastic extrusion capabiliti­es for single line, flatpacks, and TEC lines, hydrostati­c and testing.

“This makes Sandvik the first complete service provider in the region, and we look forward to continue delivering high-level services to our customers.” he said.

The launch of the new headquarte­rs was held at Sandvik’s booth at the four-day OTC Asia 2018 Conference and Exhibition currently taking place at the KLCC until Friday. — Bernama
