LIMBANG: The Bisaya community leaders here have pledged full support for Hasbi Habibollah to be renominated as the Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate for this constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election.

According to Pemanca Nicholas Buyok Pura, only the BN government can continue to sustain the development of not only the state and this district, but also the Bisaya community.

He said the same support is also given to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.

“We are confident that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have the credibility and ability to bring Sarawak to the next level of accelerated development,” he told a press conference on Thursday after chairing a meeting between Bisaya local community leaders at the Resident’s Office here, where Penghulu Manang Tingkat was also present.

Adding on, Nicholas viewed the Pan Borneo Highway project, the establishment of Petros, Development Bank of Sarawak ( DBOS) and the Centre of Technical Excellence ( Centexs) Lawas as means to provide economic returns to Sarawakians, including those in the northern part of the state.

“Moreover, the state government has also implemented infrastructure projects such as roads to inter- connect the rural areas and agricultural lands.”

Moreover, he acknowledged the government’s serious efforts in increasing the number of buffaloes for rearing here meant to encourage active participation by the Bisayas in this area, aimed at raising their socio- economic status. At the same time, he observed that most residents in Batu Danau are able to enjoy electricity supply, adding the efforts are being made to supply treated water from Ukong junction to Medamit town.

“We are confident that the future of the Bisaya community is with the BN government,” said Nicholas.
