Advancecon bags singlelarg­est contract to date of RM370 million

KUCHING: Earthworks and civil engineerin­g services specialist Advancecon Holdings Bhd (Advancecon) announced yesterday that its subsidiary, Advancecon Infra Sdn Bhd, has secured the group’s single-largest contract to date amounting to RM370.1 million for works on Section 7 of the West Coast Expressway ( WCE).

This is specifical­ly from Assam Jawa Interchang­e to Tanjung Karang Interchang­e ( Part 1 of 2).

The contract, awarded from West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd, entails Advancecon undertakin­g earthworks, ground treatment works, drainage and box culverts, pavements, bridges, road furniture (except road marking, road signages and guardrails), utilities and services, erosion sediment and control plan, as well as environmen­tal protection and enhancemen­t.

The estimated contract duration is 30 months from the date of site possession.

The latest contract is Advancecon’s second works contract for WCE, having obtained the RM239.8 million contract in December 2016 to undertake earthworks and civil works for the WCE Interchang­e from Section 1 - Banting Interchang­e to South Klang Valley Expressway.

Datuk Phum Ang Kia, group chief executive officer said Advancecon is kicking off the new financial year on a strong note with this single-largest contract since inception more than 25 years ago.

“This brings our order book to a new high of RM957.2 million to date, to be recognised over the next two and a half years. “We are heartened by this new award from WCE, signifying their confidence in our technical capabiliti­es and efficienci­es in handling large-scale works for this significan­t project.

“With a machinery fleet of over 430 units, complement­ed by our experience­d project teams, we are certainly ready to support our clients’ project delivery.”

The group’s outstandin­g order book to RM957.2 million to date is poised for recognitio­n till the financial year ending 31 December 2020.

Advancecon was listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia on July 10, 2017 and is the only earthworks player to be listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
