UPP Pujut extends MAT programme coverage areas

MIRI: United People’s Party (UPP) Pujut branch has extended the area of coverage for the implementa­tion of its Mobile Action Team ( MAT) programme.

Its chairman Bruce Chai said the idea to extend the coverage came after receiving several requests from members of the public, particular on the e-Kasih registrati­on.

“The MAT programme is the main focus of Pujut constituen­cy. Thus, in response to the people’s requests, we have decided to extend the programme, which has been put on hold due to the Chinese New Year, to various other areas,” he told the media when met during the MAT programme at Senior Citizen Street in Taman Jade Manis on Saturday.

In addition to the existing venues, Chai said the additional locations are Lutong Market, Café 59 Permyjaya Commercial Centre and New Morsjaya Market including Senior Citizen Street.

On the programme schedule, Chai said the next one would be held at Krokop 10 Market (April 1), followed by Fisherman Market at Piasau Utara 1A (April 8t), Lutong Market (April 15), Café 59 Permyjaya Commercial Centre (April 22) and Restaurant Aseanika Saberkas Commercial Centre (April 28).

Similar programme would be held on May 6 at Taman Bulatan Miri, New Morsjaya Market ( May 13), Senior Citizen Street ( May 19), Krokop 10 Market ( May 27), Fishermen Market (June 3), Lutong Market (June 10), Café 59 (June 24), Restaurant Aseanika (June 30), Taman Bulatan Miri (July 8) and July 15 at New Morsjaya Market.

On the programme yesterday, he said most of the issues received were on the request for checking of voting stations.
