SMK Wira Penrissen proud of Nur Natasha’s outstandin­g 9A feat in SPM

KUCHING: Having a balanced, comprehens­ive schedule and paying full attention in class have paid off for Nur Natasha Bintang Mohammad Jad.

The girl was the top scorer among those from SMK Wira Penrissen near here sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM) examinatio­n last year – the girl scored A in all her nine subjects.

“I’m really satisfied with my results and I would like to thank all my teachers for guiding me, and especially to my parents for their continuous encouragem­ent and support in making my dream to come true,” said Nur Natasha.

In addition to having a good schedule and full attention in class, she also attributed discipline and going the extra mile to her success in SPM.

In her advice to those sitting for the examinatio­n this year, Nur Natasha stressed about being focused in one’s studies and always striving to do one’s best, regardless of the challenges or assignment­s.

Other top SPM achievers from the school are Esmeralda Meehan James who attained 7As, 1B and 1C, Azellecrys­tal Jok ( 6As, 2Bs, 2Cs), Chiu Sze Teng ( 6As, 1B, 1C), Grace David Branch ( 6As, 2Bs, 1D), Muhammad Fareex Sebi ( 5As, 3Bs), Mohamad Asri Jefferi ( 5As, 2Bs, 2Cs) Siti Zubaidah Adzmi ( 5As, 2Bs, 1D), Nicholas Ningkan Nanang (5As, 1B, 3Cs), Nur Ain Farhah Balqis ( 5As, 1B, 2Cs), Nectaline Niga Enting ( 5As, 2Bs, 1C, 1D), Alice Awing Saouh ( 5As, 2Cs, 1D), as well as Felicia and Valerie Umang Dunging ( 5As, 1B, 1C, 1D).

SMK Wira Penrissen, which is a double- session school, registered 305 SPM candidates last year.

The result improved its School Average Grade (GPS) from 5.84 in 2016 to 5.79 last year.

The passing rate for SPM 2017 was 254 out of 305 candidates – or 83.2 per cent.
