State BN Youth to lead battle for big GE14 win

What is most important is for us to give our full support to BN and at the same time support the policies of our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also BN Sarawak chairman, especially in terms of digital economy.

KUCHING: The Barisan Nasional ( BN) Sarawak Youth machinery will be at the frontline of the coalition’s battle to ensure a big win this coming 14th general election (GE14).

BN Sarawak Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu said the BN Youth machinery’s mission will be carried out alongside the coalition’s main ( Bapa) and Women’s wings.

“What is most important is for us to give our full support to BN and at the same time support the policies of our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also BN Sarawak chairman, especially in terms of digital economy,” he said at the launch of the BN Sarawak Youth machinery which was officiated by Abang Johari here yesterday.

The event, which was held at Satok Sports Complex, was attended by around 1,500 members of the Youth wings of BN component parties; namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu

( PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party ( SUPP) and Progressiv­e Democratic Party ( PDP).

Rentap, who is also PBB Youth chief, said Abang Johari’s farsighted vision in introducin­g digital economy must be supported by BN Youth wing as this is a new policy that will strengthen the economy of Sarawak youths in the future.

He said the BN Sarawak Youth wing will also continuous­ly support the efforts of the state government, led by Abang Johari, to take back Sarawak’s rights as specified in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

“We are confident that Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will reach an agreement in regards to Sarawak’s rights which will be returned to the state.

“We in BN Sarawak Youth wing are ready to defend our rights as well as Sarawak’s pride,” he expressed.

On GE14, Rentap said the BN Sarawak Youth machinery will fi ght hard to ensure that Abang Johari and BN will obtain a majority as well as a huge mandate during the election.

Among those present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah; Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who is also PRS Youth chief; PDP Youth chief Robert Ayu and SUPP Youth chief Michael Tiang.
