MARUDI: Police personnel here are praised for their good performance in discharging their duties in the spirit of integrity, cooperation and courtesy to the public.

Nevertheless, they are also reminded to always maintain high level of discipline and to be prepared for all eventualities and challenges.

Marudi police chief DSP Gabriel Risut made these opening remarks at the districtlevel 211st Police Day celebration here yesterday, which gathered 120 police personnel from three stations namely Marudi, Beluru and Long Lama.

“To my men, well done for exhibiting good performance throughout all the challenges in 2017 – I am very proud of you.

“You must never forget the basics – upholding the law, maintaining public order and keeping watch of the security. All of you are in public service – I expect you to uphold your discipline and integrity. You are never separated from the community,” he said.

Gabriel added that the certificates of commendation presented yesterday to several local police personnel signified the recognition for the good job done by these members of the force.

“However, it does not mean that those who do not receive these certificates are not good. This is an ongoing thing – we hold our monthly assembly, where we continue to present these letters of recognition to our men, including those who have retired.

“Specifically to the pensioners, we salute you for continuing your commitment with the local community,” he said.

The recipients of the certificates were led by ASP Jaimi Hussen, who is in- charge of Marudi police management section.
