MIRI: Students of SJK( C) Chung Hua Krokop Miri can now wait to be picked up after class without having to endure the sun and rain, following the completion of the bus stop shed at the school recently.

The RM20,000-project, which was initiated by the school’s board of directors and funded by Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting, is one of the school’s facilities to improve the welfare of its students.

“We take very seriously the welfare of the students and teachers as well as the administration staff. By creating a conducive environment, we believe students would be encouraged to focus and concentrate on their academic and co- curriculum performance,” said headmistress Tang Suk Hung yesterday.

Tang added that being one of the best Chinese Independent primary schools in Miri, SJK(C) Chung Hua Krokop was constantly looking for ways to upgrade and improve its facilities.

“However, we have faced challenges in doing that. Thus, we are taking one step at a time, and in time we shall able to do it all, with of course, support from the community,” she said.

Meanwhile, the school board of directors chairman Vincent Huang expressed gratitude to Ting and Miri City Council for helping to make the bus stop shed a reality.

“Though it is a minor project which is to build a 15-metre long shed at the bus stop, we are grateful for the help from the city council,” said Huang, adding that there were plans to extend the 15metre bus shed.
