Grassroots leaders reminded of loyalty, sincerity, honesty to PDP

SARATOK: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) grassroots leaders have been reminded that the party’s strength is built on loyalty, sincerity and honesty.

When speaking at the ‘Meet the People’ gathering at Rumah Dana Embuyan, Temudok in Krian on Sunday, its president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing advised those playing their ‘ Kong Kali Kong’ games of betraying the party to stop the act, and return to the genuine struggle and vision of the party.

“We must set aside emotion and personal interest while understanding our role and responsibility to the party,” he stressed.

He also appealed to members of other Barisan Nasional ( BN) component parties to give their fullest support to all BN candidates in the coming general election that could be held any time from now.

“All BN component leaders must work closely together to ensure victory in Saratok, especially in the Krian area,” he said.

He added that failure to work together had allowed the opposition to win in Krian in the last two state elections.

Tiong also advised lobbyists who are not chosen as candidates in this parliamentary election to remain calm as they are likely to be fielded as candidates in the coming state election.

“The BN candidate needs solid support because the opposition will also be giving their all to wrest the seat from us. We need cooperation from all, especially those not nominated to contest this round,” he said.

He said those not nominated to contest under BN ticket in Sarartok this round must not sabotage the party but give their fullest support to ensure BN retain the seat.

Also speaking at the gathering were Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin, who is PDP director of operation for Saratok, and Subeng Mula, a businessman widely tipped to be PDP-BN candidate for Saratok.
