SJK Sebiew Chinese, SMK Bintulu are 7th Petronas’ choral champs

BINTULU: SJK Sebiew Chinese and SMK Bintulu emerged champion in the 7th Petronas choral speaking competitio­n 2018 for the respective primary and secondary school categories recently.

They received a challenge trophy, a trophy, certificat­es and gold medal.

Second and third place winners in the primary school category were SJK Siong Boon and SK Bintulu respective­ly.

SMK Baru and SMK Kidurong came in second and third places respective­ly in the secondary school category.

The ‘ best conductor award’, meanwhile, went to Nathaneal Britten James Churchill of SJK Sebiew Chinese while the ‘ best script award’ in the primary school category went to SK Assyakirin with a performanc­e called ‘STEM Reach Out’.

Aliah Najwa Abdullah from SMK Baru won the ‘best conductor award’ in the secondary school category. SMK Baru also won the ‘ best script award’ for their presentati­on of ‘ The STEM of life’.

The prizes were presented by Malaysia LNG ( MLNG) Group of Companies chief executive officer Pau Kiew Huai.

Over 900 students from 19 schools in Bintulu participat­ed in this year’s competitio­n, organised by Petronas’ subsidiary MLNG in collaborat­ion with Bintulu District Education Office.

Pau also spoke at the function.
