SJK Sebiew Chinese, SMK Bintulu are 7th Petronas’ choral champs
BINTULU: SJK Sebiew Chinese and SMK Bintulu emerged champion in the 7th Petronas choral speaking competition 2018 for the respective primary and secondary school categories recently.
They received a challenge trophy, a trophy, certificates and gold medal.
Second and third place winners in the primary school category were SJK Siong Boon and SK Bintulu respectively.
SMK Baru and SMK Kidurong came in second and third places respectively in the secondary school category.
The ‘ best conductor award’, meanwhile, went to Nathaneal Britten James Churchill of SJK Sebiew Chinese while the ‘ best script award’ in the primary school category went to SK Assyakirin with a performance called ‘STEM Reach Out’.
Aliah Najwa Abdullah from SMK Baru won the ‘best conductor award’ in the secondary school category. SMK Baru also won the ‘ best script award’ for their presentation of ‘ The STEM of life’.
The prizes were presented by Malaysia LNG ( MLNG) Group of Companies chief executive officer Pau Kiew Huai.
Over 900 students from 19 schools in Bintulu participated in this year’s competition, organised by Petronas’ subsidiary MLNG in collaboration with Bintulu District Education Office.
