‘State needs Abang Johari’s progressive development approach’

KUCHING: Sarawak really needs Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s progressive development approach to catch up and achieve developed status by 2030.

Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said Abang Johari knows the people want fast and balanced development for urban and rural areas.

“We are glad that Pantai Damai is selected to be on the route of the proposed Light Railway Transit (LRT) line. Our Chief Minister is being visionary as what he has planned is something that will benefit and ease the people in the future in terms of accessibility, development, and also financially,” said Dr Abdul Rahman when launching the Pantai Damai Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery and operations room yesterday.

The Pantai Damai assemblyman said the LRT project will spur new growth in Pantai Damai.

“We can look forward to development of new residential areas and commercial zones, and this will help to complete the economic cycle as people are employed, work, and spend here and not move elsewhere,” he said.

“I want the people of Pantai Damai to be ready for this mega development and know the opportunities beyond. From there we can ensure that the people will greatly benefit from it and the project will reach its goals.”

On the election, Dr Abdul Rahman said BN and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Pantai Damai will use the same approach to retain the Santubong parliamentary seat.
