Nyelong Bridge Fun Run calling for entries

SARIKEI: The 5km Nyelong Bridge Fun Run on April 15 is calling for entries.

Organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports in conjunction with the National Blue Ocean Strategy ( NBOS) Fiesta here, the run will begin from the civic centre at 7.30am.

The top three prizes for both the men’s and women’s categories are RM300, RM200, and RM100.

Those who place fourth to 10th in both categories will receive RM50 each.

The entry fee is RM25 per person but there is a special fee of RM20 per person for the first 300 runners.

Register at the ministry’s office or The Sport Shop by April 9.

Other events in conjunction with the three- day fiesta, which is expected to be officially launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on April 14, are Badang Sarikei, aerobics, as well as blowpipe and futsal competitions.

For the aerobics on April 15, there are cash prizes of RM300 each for the biggest contingent, best uniform, and best performance.

Badang Sarikei will see participants compete in the tyre flip, frame walk, loading race, log press and Hilux pull, with the top six prizes for each being RM800, RM600, RM500, RM400, RM200, and RM100, while those who place sixth to 10th place will get RM50 each.
