BN launches election machinery in Limbang
LIMBANG: Barisan Nasional ( BN) launched its election machinery here on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan called on the BN in Limbang and Lawas to secure convincing victories to show support for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who was born in Limbang.
He also pointed out that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has demonstrated his commitment to state and should be returned to power.
“There has been no Malaysian Prime Minister who has been as concerned about Sarawak as Datuk Seri Najib, and his 60 visits (to the state) and touching base in 125 locations speaks of his track record, which should be reciprocated with a resounding mandate to continue what he has done for Sarawak,” he said.
Awang Tengah said during Najib’s visits to the state in the past nine years, he has handed out allocations totalling RM4.6 billion for Limbang and Lawas.
“We see Datuk Seri Najib having the spirit of elevating Malaysia into a developed nation and improving the standard of living of the people and the BN under his leadership should be returned for continuity of Sarawak’s interests and development,” he stressed.
Awang Tengah said BN’s manifesto at national and state levels are comprehensive and emphasise the importance of the development of the youth and women, empowering women, and expanding their participation in the economy and nation building.
Among those present were Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, incumbent Lawas member of parliament Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Assistant Minister of Agriculture Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang, incumbent Limbang member of parliament Hasbi Habibollah, and former Nangka assemblyman Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.
