HSS integrated gets RM289.9 million MRT Corp job

KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has appointed HSS Engineers Bhd’s associate, HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI), to be the Independent Consultant Engineer (ICE) for Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (KVMRT3) Circle Line for RM289.9 million.

In a statement yesterday, the engineering and project management consultant said, HSSI was appointed by MRT Corp, with works already commenced from March 6, 2018 with cross assignment of personnel from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR).

HSSI, in its current ICE role for KVMRT2 Sungai Buloh-SerdangPutrajaya ( SSP) line, has been working together successfully with JKR’s personnel, and KVMRT3 Circle Line will see an enhanced role being taken by JKR personnel, HSS Engineers said.

“The works are expected to be completed in 2026, hence anticipated to contribute positively to the group’s performance for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2018 till Dec 31, 2026,” it said.

HSS Engineers said this contract came in shortly after the completion of its acquisition of SMHB Engineering Sdn Bhd, engineering and project management consultancy firm specialised in the water industry on March 28, 2018.

This contract win, inclusive of projects from SMHB Engineering, would bring the group’s current unbilled order book to RM962.5 million, it said. — Bernama
