PRS sacks Entulu, Nyallau and 3 other supreme council members for going against party decision
KUCHING: The Parti Rakyat Sarawak ( PRS) special committee formed late last night sacked five of its supreme council members for disobeying the party over its candidacy list for the 14th general election ( GE14) and also for ridiculing and putting the party in disrepute.
Its president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing told a press conference that those sacked with immediate effect were deputy president Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun, who is the incumbent for Selangau, Datuk William Nyallau Badak (the incumbent for Lubok Antu), Nyempah Sabot, Edward Kurik and Adriana Chumang.
Masing s a id the speci a l committee will be sending them the termination letters soon and with the sacking, Entulu and Nyallau will have no chance to be re-nominated as PRS candidates for GE14 or even represent the party in any form.
“I f they want to contest as independent that is their business but they cannot represent PRS anymore,” said Masing, who disclosed that he had met with the Barisan Nasional ( BN) chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
But when pressed on what PRS would do if Najib decided to renominate Entulu and Nyallau, Masing sidestepped the question by telling the media these were separate matters.
Masing said PRS was adamant in fielding new faces lawyer Rita Insol and Sabah chief prosecutor Robert Pasang Alam in Selangau and Lubok Antu respectively.
The four other parliamentary constituencies allocated to PRS – Julau, Sri Aman, Kanowit and Hulu Rajang – will not see any change in candidacy as the incumbents Datuk Joseph Salang, Datuk Masir Kujat, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang and Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong respectively will be re-nominated.
