‘Vote for the right person to ensure development’

-

SIBU: The people in Nanga Tutus near here will suffer over the next five years if they pick the wrong person to represent them this parliamentary election, says Rancangan Sibu 1 ( RS1) Team deputy chairman Andrew Shilling.

He takes Bandar Sibu as an example, where the constituents have been suffering after it went to the opposition in the previous polls.

“For (the past) five years, the Sibu constituency has hardly received any development, save for those brought about by the Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh,” he pointed out.

Tutus is in Bawang Assan state constituency – the Sibu parliamentary area is made up of Bawang Assan, Pelawan and Nangka state constituencies.

Shilling, speaking during a RS1 community programme recently, reiterated that all the development projects that the people in Nanga Tutus had enjoyed were from Barisan Nasional ( BN) -led state government, through the Bawang Assan assemblyman.

“But, this is not enough. If you want bigger development allocations, get from the federal government.

“And for this, you’ve to vote in the BN candidate this election,” he said.

Shilling added the people of Nanga Tutus should be grateful to Soon Koh for all the basic facilities such as roads, electricity supply and telecommunications.

“For those of you who are still waiting for water supply, be patient as our Minister of International Trade and E- Commerce ( Soon Koh) is working on it,” Shilling said.

Meanwhile as part of the community programme, RS1 team headed by its chairman Dato Andrew Wong visited 10 longhouses in Batu Burak and Nanga Tutus, Batang Igan.
