Aaron urges Chinese voters in Kanowit to vote for BN

-

SIBU: Chinese voters in Kanowit have been urged to vote for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate this 14th general election, and to ensure BN win big.

Kanowit incumbent Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the result in the previous election was easy to understand because it went by area.

“We knew the voting trend of voters from Penyulau, Lukut and Pantu Mali areas. Many of the Chinese voters in these areas voted BN and as such their support made it easy for us as elected representative to carry out our duty for the people,” he said when officiating at a gathering themed ‘Glamour and Glitters’ organised by Penyulau/ Lukut 1Malaysia Community ( K1M) here on Sunday.

Also present were Sibu and Mukah divisional Information officer Ivy Stephen Sekai, Kanowit Information Department head Donny Minggu Ling, Kanowit police chief DSP Daniel Benjamin, Penyulau/Lukut K1M chairperson Patricia Lim, acting Kanowit district officer Louis Yeo, Kanowit Fire and Rescue Department chief Arrahman Chik and Special Affairs Department representative Edmund James.

Aaron also hoped that the unity, cooperation and togetherness of the various races in Kanowit will be translated into votes for BN in the poll.

He described the polling result in Kanowit in the 13th general election as ‘not very promising’.

In 2013, Aaron faced a threecornered fight against Thomas Laja Besi of Parti Keadilan Rakyat and Ellison Ludan Muyan of Sarawak Workers Party.

Aaron won by 3,042 votes majority when he garnered 8,046 votes while Laja and Ludan obtained 5,004 and 417 votes respectively.
