BN Women to focus on wresting four seats from opposition

MIRI: The Barisan Nasional ( BN) Women movement is all geared up to help BN candidates recapture the four ‘ hot’ seats from the opposition.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the seats are Miri, Sibu, Sarikei and Stampin parliament­ary constituen­cies.

“The Sarawak BN Women movement will work hard to help the BN candidates recapture four opposition- owned seats including the Miri seat,” she said.

Fatimah said this when met at the ‘ Program Turun Padang Majlis Tertinggi Pergerakan Wanita PBB Sarawak bersama Komponen Wanita BN Zon Miri’ at a hotel here yesterday.

Fatimah thanked the BN central and state BN chairman for announcing six female candidates to contest in this election.

There are three new faces among the six women, namely Kho Teck Wan ( Kuching), Rita Sarimah Patrick Insol ( Selangau) and Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib ( Mukah).

Also present yesterday were Assistant Minister of Law, StateFeder­al Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Childhood Developmen­t Rosey Yunus, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin, political secretary to the chief minister Dayang Nurfizawat­i Abang Abdul Karim, Women Exco members Datin Esther Balan Mujan and Bukit Goram PBB women chief Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang.
