Sejiwa Senada heads to Meradong this weekend, Bekenu on May 1-2

KUCHING: The ‘Sejiwa Senada’ programme wi l l take place Meradong in Bintangor this April 28 and 29, and in Bekenu on May 1 and 2.

It will be held at the basketball cour t in Meradong and at the carpark of Sibuti Rural Transforma­t ion Centre i n Bekenu.

The Sejiwa Senada Programme is one of the initiative­s of the state government to be closer to the people by going to the ground.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will officially launch the programme on April 29 in Meradong and on May 1 in Bekenu.

The programme acts as a onestop centre for the government to serve the people, and for the people to be involved in sports and recreation­al activities.

The programme is also to enhance the feel- good factor among the people so that they would be confident and aware of what the government is doing in bringing developmen­t, and to uplift the socio economic and living standard of the people.

Through the programme, the government hopes to build better rapport with the people and to sustain good cooperatio­n with them for the sake of progress and harmony in the state.

As the programme wil l be held in Meradong town, it is an opportunit­y for the people from around Meradong, Sarikei , Julau, Pakan, Kanowit and other nearby areas to access government services, informatio­n and advice from government­linked companies ( GLCs), nongovernm­ental organisati­ons ( NGOs) and the private sector from the more than 50 booths available.

There will also be exhibition­s, sales of local products, food and drinks, stage performanc­es and lucky draws for visitors.

Two motorcycle­s, mobile phones and electrical products are among the lucky draw prizes.

A concert has been schedule on the evening of April 28 at the same venue featuring top artistes such as Bob AF, Ricky Andrewson and Ricky El, with D’ Cipta band in attendance. The singers will again appear in a pre- show on Sunday morning.
