Masing grateful to BN leaders for trusting his candidates’ list, promises PRS will win all 6 seats

KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing promised that his party will deliver all the six seats allocated to the party to reciprocate the BN top leadership’s trust in its selection of candidates.

“I want to thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for having the trust in me and PRS by accepting all of our nominated candidates to contest in the 14th general election (GE14). The ball is now at our feet. We need to deliver all the six seats to the Prime Minister. I have made that promise,” Masing said here yesterday.

When asked if PRS’ performance in GE14 will be affected by the sacking of its deputy president and Selangau incumbent Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun and Lubok Antu incumbent Datuk William Nyallau Badak, Masing dismissed the notion and said both of them are free to contest as Malaysia is a democratic country.

“This is a free country. They can do whatever they want,” asserted Masing.

Besides Entulu and Nyallau, three other PRS supreme council members who were also sacked on Sunday night were Nyempah Sabot, Edward Kurik and Adriana Chuming.

Replacing Entulu in Selangau is lawyer Rita Sarimah Insol, 56, while former Sabah prosecution director Robert Pasang Alam, 52, will replace Nyallau in Lubok Antu.
