First City holds Stardust Diploma Showcase

PETALING JAYA: First City University College recently held its annual ‘ Stardust Diploma Showcase’ for its Diploma in Interactiv­e Design and Interior Design at its modern urban campus in Bandar Utama.

The three- day public exhibition featured 35 outstandin­g creations produced by art and design diploma students, exploring the influence of their experience­s and skills developed over their final and eye- catchingly year project.

The 14-week ‘ LIVE’ projects proposed by a creative and communicat­ions industry partner were accomplish­ed successful­ly and also wowed industry partners and other attendees.

At the event, the art and design diploma students’ ingenious creations comprised various brands from carbonated beverage, to bread spread, cosmetics, and confection­ery that served as a focal point and platform at the exhibition, as graduating students showed their portfolios to parents, friends, the public, and potential employers.

Diploma in Interior Design student Wong Kai Ying presented a pottery store and service concept display.

“It was a great experience organising this event and working together as a group.

“And I have interest in making pottery art but here in Malaysia there aren’t many pottery stores or services for people to try out and I feel our country should have more pottery stores for people to understand it better,” she said in a press release yesterday.

Alumni incentives are also available for current students, who intend to study new programmes.
