Work together to develop Baram, BN supporters urged
MARUDI: A Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate is only as strong as the support he is receiving from the constituents.
Anyi Ngau, who said this in his speech during a ‘ Leaders Meet People’ session at Baram Civic Centre here recently, also pointed out the importance of cooperation between the two.
“BN leaders and supporters alike must be strong, united and sincere when it comes to putting in more efforts towards improving the administration in Baram.
“Another important thing for us is to never use any political party for self-interest. The fighting spirit is there in the Baram ( BN) team, for us to develop this district and address all issues together. This is among our long-term commitment for the communities in Baram,” he spoke at the event, where Assistant Minister of Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Mulu assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau and political secretary to chief minister Charles Balan Seling were also present.
For the coming parliamentary election, Anyi is facing Roland Engan of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR). In the 2013 polls, the former won the Baram seat with 194-vote majority.
On another matter, Anyi called upon all Baram constituents to come out on May 9 and cast their votes.
“Come home to Baram and vote,” he said in front of more than 1,000 people attending the session.
