872 Telang Usan households receive compassionate funds of RM500 each
MARUDI: A total of 872 households in Telang Usan received compassionate funds of RM500 each on Tuesday during a meet-the-people event.
The funds were for the hardship they experienced during floods late last year and early this year.
A total of 1,459 households in Marudi and 1,501 households in Beluru will also receive the funds at a later date.
Overall the federal government allocated some RM2 million for the compassionate funds.

“It is important for our community to stay united and cooperate with the government instead of standing around and doing nothing. We must get actively involved and be ready to cooperate with the government,” he said.
“This will help to ensure people in Baram will be able to enjoy various developments similar to those living in cities and urban areas, in line with our Chief Minister’s ( Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) vision of greater development in rural areas.”
He called on the people to vote for Barisan Nasional candidate and incumbent for Baram Anyi Ngau on May 9.
“We are grateful to God because for the last five years, Baram has been blessed with a strong and diligent MP, the one and only Anyi Ngau, who is always committed to develop Baram,” he added.
