872 Telang Usan households receive compassion­ate funds of RM500 each

MARUDI: A total of 872 households in Telang Usan received compassion­ate funds of RM500 each on Tuesday during a meet-the-people event.

The funds were for the hardship they experience­d during floods late last year and early this year.

A total of 1,459 households in Marudi and 1,501 households in Beluru will also receive the funds at a later date.

Overall the federal government allocated some RM2 million for the compassion­ate funds.

“This will help to ensure people in Baram will be able to enjoy various developmen­ts similar to those living in cities and urban areas, in line with our Chief Minister’s ( Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) vision of greater developmen­t in rural areas.”

He called on the people to vote for Barisan Nasional candidate and incumbent for Baram Anyi Ngau on May 9.

“We are grateful to God because for the last five years, Baram has been blessed with a strong and diligent MP, the one and only Anyi Ngau, who is always committed to develop Baram,” he added.
