Najib has allocated more funds for devt in Sarawak — Awang Tengah

-

MEDAMIT, Limbang: Never in the history of Sarawak has any prime minister allocated more funds for public utilities and infrastructure development in the state than Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Deputy chief minister and Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said this when officiating at the opening ceremony of Kampung Tanjong Riman community hall and presentation of perpetuity land titles to residents of five villages in Limbang constituency under the new native customary rights ( NCR) initiative programme.

“I know this because I was tasked to represent the state government in meetings chaired by Datuk Seri Najib when I was looking after public utilities and other projects roll out in the state,” he said.

“On top of the allocation, he has visited Sarawak 61 times, bringing RM4.46 billion worth of projects in his walkabout in the past nine years compared to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who held office for 22 years and hardly visited the state,” he said.

Najib also gave allocation of funds to support the state government’s efforts to survey NCR lands and approved the Pan Borneo Highway projects worth RM20 billion Awang Tengah added.

He urged voters in Limbang, particularly the minority Bisaya community to remain united and support BN in the election.

“Your support to BN has netted RM285 million worth of projects under the 11th Malaysia Plan, so please return BN candidate again,” he said.

Awang Tengah said voting for BN would not mean an affront to PKR candidate Dr Ricardo Baba who might be related to some the voters here.

Earlier, BN candidate Hasbi Habibolah urged the electorate to put aside family and community ties and vote for him.

“There is much more to be done in Limbang and vote for your future, without disregarding family and personal ties,“he said.

Also present were Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Gumbang, Deputy DUN Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar, Assistant Minister of Agriculture Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.
