Rep lauds exemplary leadership of Limbang Hockien Associatio­n

LIMBANG: The Limbang Hockien Associatio­n is one of the active associatio­ns in the district and is always with the government in contributi­ng towards the success of various developmen­t programmes here.

Assistant Minister of Agricultur­e Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail commended the exemplary leadership in the associatio­n led by Chinese community leader Temenggong Ang Kheng Su, adding it should be emulated by all members.

“This good leadership and the loyalty of the associatio­n to the government need to be maintained for the continued progress of the community,” he said at a dinner organised by the Limbang Hockien Associatio­n held at the civic centre here on Wednesday.

Also present were state assemblyma­n for Batu Danau Paulus Palu Gumbang, BN candidate for Limbang Hasbi Habibollah, Limbang Resident Ir Denny Ahmad Fauzi, Walikota Limbang cum PBB Bukit Kota youth chief Cr Sufian Mohat, chairman of Hockien Limbang Cr Lim Kian Kheng, and Temenggong Ang.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Bukit Kota assemblyma­n, urged the Chinese community in Limbang to vote for the BN candidate for the Limbang parliament­ary seat in the May 9 polls for the 14th General Election.

“Hasbi is well-known as a friendly leader who can mix together with various races, community leaders and is wellliked by the locals.”

He praised the Limbang Hockien Associatio­n which organised its Family Day apart from educating young people in filial piety and mutual respect.

At the function, Dr Abdul Rahman announced a government grant of RM20,000 for the associatio­n.
