MIRI: The 15th Dynasty Hotel Charity Run is offering early bird’s rates to participants until May 20.

For individual men’s, women’s, veterans’, juniors’, and ‘Fun Run’ categories, the early bird’s rate is RM55, while for family teams the early bird’s rate is RM110 per card.

“The charity run is part of annual events organised by Dynasty Hotel, aiming to raise funds for the Dynasty Hotel Charity Fund,” said acting general manager Ho Poh Chin at the launch the fi nisher’s medals for the event yesterday.

“It is important to let the public know that the proceeds from the run will be channelled to the underprivileged citizens in the community, and through our annual goodies giveaway during festive seasons, held in collaboration with the Welfare Department.”

From May 21 to 27, the entry fee will be RM65 per participant for individuals and RM130 per team for the family category.

Proceeds will benefit the Malaysian Red Crescent Dialysis Centre; Morsjaya Community Based Rehabilitation Centre; Association of Parents with Special Children ( Pibakis) Miri; Sarawak Society for the Blind Miri; and Miri Home for the Aged.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin regarded the hotel as a great example for others to follow.

“There are many others who are in need of help. Dynasty Hotel Charity Fund and Welfare Department are playing a great part in reaching out to these groups. It is only right if we work hand in hand, doing what we have to in order to help these people get back on their feet,” he said.

The Dynasty Hotel Charity Run will be held on July 1, commencing at 6.30am. Last year, RM160,000 was donated to non-governmental organisations and recipients of festive goodies.
