KUCHING: The new school blocks and a field at SK Tanjung Bako were declared open by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar yesterday.

According to the Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate for Santubong, the two new blocks were built using pre- fabricated Industrialised Building System ( IBS) materials and the field was specially designed to enable grass to grow on it undisturbed.

During the launching ceremony held at the school yesterday, he said the school was facing congestion problem for many years and the new blocks would be able to ease the congestion.

mechanism to prevent salt water from entering the field,” he said.

The new blocks house six classrooms, a science labortory and an administration block.

It was also revealed that the two blocks were meant to be temporary, as the school would eventually be relocated to higher grounds, free from the flood.

SK Tanjung Bako was built in 1965 as Tanjong Bako DC school, and has gone through many renovations throughout the years.

On the coming election, Wan Junaidi reminded the voters to vote for BN if they want more development coming their way. He wanted the people to give him an even bigger mandate so that he would be retained as a minister.

“I believe that I have never disappointed the people in Santubong. I have always brought development to the constituency eversince I have been elected their representative.”

Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Hipni, and state Education Department director Rakayah Madon were among those who accompanied Wan Junaidi at the function.
