Voters urged to consider the development blueprint for Lanang, rally behind BN

-

SIBU: The BN-SUPP candidate for Lanang Kelvin Kong earnestly appeals to the Chinese community in the constituency to deeply consider the development blueprints for Lanang over the next five years and rally solidly behind Barisan Nasional ( BN).

He said the Chinese community must seize on this opportunity (GE14) to elect a representative who can really manage their constituency (Lanang) well and look after their interest at the national level.

“We only get to do this once in every five years. This GE14 is a great opportunity for us to push for the positive progress we want for Lanang.

“We need allocations for the development of better facilities and services and these can only happen and materialise if we work hand in hand with the government,” Kelvin pointed out.

He was speaking to reporters during a joint press conference held with the Board of Directors of Kiew Nang Primary School and SUPP Lanang Publicity Secretariate, held at SUPP Dudong Branch Office yesterday.

The Chairman of Board of Directors Kiew Nang Primary School Tiong Hock Kieng and the SUPP Dudong Branch chairman Wong Ching Yong were also present.

Kelvin said, they should not let Lanang parliamentary constituency go through another five long years without any development taking place.

“I believe we all want to see our family, children and community to have and enjoy better infrastructure facilities in the next five years,” he said.

When questioned by reporters on his chance of winning the Lanang Parliamentary seat, the humble ‘kampung boy’ from Sg. Durin replied that to win Lanang is not easy.

“However, where there is hope, there is a possibility. So, if we can win Lanang Parliamentary seat, it will be a breakthrough and a historical achievement in Sarawak.

“We can only achieve it with the solid support from all the voters under Lanang constituency including the Chinese voters in Bukit Assek,” he added.

Kelvin said nobody was really willing to touch on the serious and complicated issues of Bukit Assek, but his BN- SUPP team will face it and fix it.

“So, to convince the people in Bukit Assek of how serious we are to redevelop their place, we brought in our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to visit their place on May 2.
