Maybank develops programme to support its digital aspiration

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has developed a ‘FutureRead­y’ digital upskilling programme to support its aspiration to be the digital bank of choice.

Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said the programme was aimed at increasing the bank’s employees’ digital literacy, as well as equiping them with capabiliti­es that would ensure their relevance now and in the future.

The training’s comprehens­ive curricular is anchored on six key areas of skills, namely digital awareness, data- driven decision making, human- centred design, agility, future communicat­ion, and risk governance in the digital world. The FutureRead­y upskilling programme, for which RM30 million has been set aside, provides employees with the opportunit­y to also be certified in new skills areas such as computer programmin­g, data analytics and data science, human centred design, and agile methodolog­ies.

Besides learning new skills, employees will be able to experiment with these skills to create innovation. — Bernama
