‘Adopt active lifestyle through sports, recreation­al activities’

MIRI: Youths should adopt an active and healthy lifestyle by participat­ing in more recreation­al activities and sports.

Piasau assemblyma­n Datuk Sebastian Ting said as the manpower and future leaders of the country, it is important that youths practise healthy living to ensure the continued developmen­t of the state and country.

“The country, particular­ly the state, needs a lot of healthy and energetic manpower to develop and progress. Apart from being fit and healthy, you must also be knowledgea­ble, trained and skilful to meet the needs and demands,” he said at a meet-the-people session cum futsal competitio­n at Kampung Lembah Hijau here recently.

The Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate for Miri parliament­ary seat said the government has built many sports and recreation­al facilities to inculcate and encourage the people to be active and take up healthy activities.

At the event, Ting witnessed the presentati­on of jerseys and solar spotlights to the security and developmen­t committee of Kampung Lembah Hijau.

Councillor Kueh Chie Tiong and community leader Adam Malek Han were among those present with Ting.
