anxiety in the people,” he said to Bernama last night.

Raja Mohamed Affandi advised the people not to easily believe the fake news and to check the authenticity of the news circulated on social media.

Raja Mohamed Affandi advised the people not to panic because the situation in Putrajaya was under control and there was nothing to worry about.

A check by Bernama last night found no military assets in the federal administrative capital and, as the Chief of Defence Forces had said, the situation was under control.

Only a number of roads had been closed with policemen standing by as a precautionary measure.

Malaysians went to the polls in the 14th general election yesterday to elect a new government for the next five years.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Army issued a statement dismissing the pictures circulated on social media of army assets and soldiers having been deployed in Putrajaya.

It asked for an immediate stop to the circulation of the pictures and advised the people not to believe the fake news. — Bernama
