Maxis launches ONEder Parent campaign

-

KUCHING: Maxis has launched its ONEder Parent campaign to embrace a more inclusive idea of parenthood by paying tribute to single parents – mothers or fathers.

A press release yesterday said Maxis has launched a video about a single dad learning to understand his young daughter, which can be viewed at https:// youtu.be/fOXKiEai_WQ for the campaign.

Maxis is also teaming up with Parents without Partners (PWP), a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers lowincome single parents towards achieving financial independence, to help PWP reach more customers online through Maxis’ eCommerce platform.

Since 2007, PWP has been raising funds for its programmes by operating Jumble Station, a store selling preloved donated goods ranging from books, toys and household items, to garments and accessories.

“We recognise the challenges of single parenting, especially from a financial standpoint, and wanted to help PWP’s Jumble Station continue fundraising sustainably,” said Maxis Brand and Partnerships head Tai Kam Leong.

“Before this, Jumble Station relied exclusively on selling through their physical store. With almost 50 per cent of Malaysian consumers making online purchases monthly, we saw the potential in digitalising Jumble Station.”

Tai said Maxis’ goal is to empower the team through technology and the Internet so that the Jumble Station e-store can target the right type of shoppers for different items.

“This is also the first time some single parents are selling their handcraft items on an e-store, and we’re excited to be working with PWP to make this happen.”

As part of the partnership, the Maxis eCommerce team will set up an online store for PWP to create more awareness and drive visits from online shoppers.

Maxis eCommerce is a one-stop solution that helps Malaysian retailers design, build and integrate their online stores, amplify their online presence with digital marketing and optimise performance through insights and analytics.

Maxis will also train the PWP team to set up a digital product library, as well to pack and fulfil orders via tracked courier services.

In addition, Maxis will sponsor a year of hosting, maintenance and support of PWP’s ecommerce site.

Later this month, Maxis volunteers, MSquad, will take part in the ONEder Parent campaign by donating preloved clothes, accessories, and household items for the Jumble Station e-store.

They will also volunteer their time to help PWP curate and organise the e-store’s new online inventory.
