Kelantan MMK members to be announced soon, says Ahmad

KOTA BHARU: Members of the Kelantan state executive council (MMK) will be announced soon after the consent and a suitable date from the Kelantan Istana is received, said Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

Ahmad said he had received the complete list of the MMK members but at the same time was carrying out further study on the list.

“God willing, in another two, three days, the full list will be issued and the swearing in ceremony will be held before Ramadan,” he told reporters after the PAS victory thanksgiving ceremony in Kampung Surau, Salor here yesterday.

Also present was PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who is also MP for Kubang Kerian.

Last Thursday, Ahmad, who is also Kelantan PAS commissioner took his oath of office as Kelantan Menteri Besar for the second term after PAS obtained the people’s mandate in the 14th general election to continue governing the state.

However the MMK members in the state government had yet to take their oath of office so far.

On ties between the Kelantan government and the federal government, Ahmad said it would run smoothly as usual as enshrined in the federal constitution and both the state and federal governments had a responsibility towards the welfare of the people.
