King De Lago set to lift the crown

- By Scoop

KUCHING: Newcomer King De Lago can get off the mark at the Mile 8 Penrissen course here this morning.

The six-year-old looks ready to greet the judges as he lines up against a field of six runners in Race Three for Class III over 1000M. With leading jockey Jasmi Kamar in the saddle, the Beraya Stable’s galloper should take the wide (No. 6) barrier draw and 66kg on his back in his stride to bring off a maiden win. He is the one to beat.

Geronimo is also in it with a bright chance. The seven-yearold copped an upgrade to Class Three after an easy win in Class Four last meeting.

Based on the impressive showing and with class on his side and visiting Sabah jockey Philip Apok astride, the W Stable’s galloper should strongly challenge for honours.

The other danger should come from Peace Pipe (Roslan Bujang).

Former Class One racer Bukan Lawan Nya should give Jasmi Kamar another winning ride in Race Four (Class II – 1000M).

The eight-year-old has been demoted to Class II after racing under the radar for a spell but can bounce back by taking out the six-strong field today. Give him another chance.

Rambo (Roslan Bujang) and Beraya (Philip Apok) to provide the main challenge.

Newly-promoted Black Russian can go three up on the trot in Race Five (Class One – 1000M).

The four-year-old who scored twice in as many starts en route to top company, can up the ante by giving Jasmi Kamar a red letter day with another solid showing to extend a tworace winning streak. The main challenge should come from Monolita (Maruf Wahab) and Dream Catcher II (Roslan

Bujang).
