MoU sees KFC drive-thru outlets to be set up at Petronas stations nationwide

KUALA LUMPUR: QSR Brands ( M) Holdings Bhd has signed a memorandum of understand­ing ( MoU) with Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) to offer KFC products and its drive-thru service to more Petronas customers nationwide.

QSR Brands is the region’s largest quick service restaurant operator with over 1,250 KFC and Pizza Hut restaurant­s in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia.

In the MoU between its wholly owned subsidiary company, QSR Stores Sdn Bhd and PDB, QSR Stores is to establish 50 new KFC Drive-Thru outlets at Petronas stations nationwide, within the next three years.

The MoU was signed by Ling Mee Jiuan, senior vice president of KFC Malaysia and Aadrin Azly, head of Retail Business Division, Petronas Dagangan Berhad in a ceremony held at KFC Petronas TTDI Drive-Thru.

Also present at the ceremony were QSR Brands managing director Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Petronas Downstream Business vice president marketing Dato Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed M Tahir, QSR Brands Restaurant CEO Merrill Pereyra, and Petronas Dagangan Berhad CEO managing director Dato Mohd Ibrahimnud­din Mohd Yunus.

Mohamed Azahari said that the strategic collaborat­ion with PDB provides excellent opportunit­y for QSR Brands to expand its business and restaurant services for the next three years.

“As a market leader within the quick service restaurant­s segment in Malaysia, we want our service to be easily accessible to our customers. While continuing to strengthen our core product and service offerings to deliver excellent customer experience­s, we place a great emphasis on our expansion strategies so we could meet the elevated demands of our customers today and tomorrow.

“PDB is a market leader in its industry and a trusted fuel provider in the country. Through this collaborat­ion, we are looking forward to grow and expand our business with Petronas’ strong presence in the country.”

Syed Zainal Abidin added: “Since 2003, PDB and QSR Brands have been enjoying mutual business success leveraging on each other’s strength. Today, we are pleased with QSR Brands’ commitment to further expand its foothold within our wide network of Petronas stations.”

He added that as two market leaders in their very own right, this strategic partnershi­p is a testimony of their aspiration to widen their offerings and continue to serve Malaysians better.

“We will also be looking at joint promotions, marketing campaigns and loyalty programmes in the near future to further add value to our customers.”
