PTBS score third straight win
KUCHING: Persatuan Tenis Bumiputera Sarawak ( PTBS) are still the team to beat after winning the third edition of the Kuching Tennis Inter- Club competition at Kelab Golf Sarawak ( KGS) over the weekend.
They completed a hat- trick of wins after winning the previous two editions in the five- team contest which includes PTBS, Sarawak Club, Samarahan Tennis Club, Maksak and KGS.
A total of 75 players took part in the tournament hosted by KGS from May 11 to 13.
It was held on a round robin format and PTBS managed to win all their ties and walked home with RM1,000 and a challenge trophy.
Maksak and KGS were second and third, bringing home RM500 and RM250 respectively.
KGS sports sub- committee chairman Yakop Jalel, who closed the event, congratulated the winners and the players of all the clubs for making the tournament a success.

KGS will invite Samarahan Tennis Club and PDRM Tennis Club for the 2nd Edition of the Tan Sri Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani Invitational Cup to be held in October.
Meanwhile, Maksak will host the fourth edition of Kuching Tennis Inter- Club.
