Facial recognition, people-counting cameras among Camnix’s latest security offerings

-

KUCHING: Camnix Solution Sdn Bhd (Camnix) has introduced the company’s latest security system offerings which include facial recognition and people- counting cameras at its yearly seminar held yesterday.

Managing director KN Jong revealed that the seminar was attended by 80 people, comprising dealers and business partners from Kuching, Sarikei, Sibu and Bintulu. Speakers at the seminar included representatives from Camnix’s supplier, Vivos and Western Digital.

According to Jong, Camnix’s supplier for its cameras is one of the leaders in the security systems industry and the first in the world to offer 4K for HDCVI cameras.

“This year, we are placing emphasis on facial recognition cameras which will recognise a person’s face and details will appear on the screen regarding the scanned individual.

“There is also the people- counting camera which detects the number of people who enters or exits the premises,” Jong said.

He added that this technology is good for retail companies as owners can even remotely see from elsewhere how many customers are coming into their outlet or premises.

Other cameras presented at the seminar included the thermal detection camera which can detect fire, along with the temperature of people and objects. This function works even at night.

For example, the camera can detect if the temperature has reached more than 40 degrees which can then trigger alarms on the premises.

Another instance whereby the thermal detection camera is useful is when it is set up outside the premises. The cameras will be able to detect any intruders, even behind trees or bushes.

Camnix’s fish eye cameras were also highlighted by Jong, equipped with 12 megapixels and a 360 degree viewing function.

Another highlight was the Speedome which is equipped with a 25-times optical zoom and when installed at the top of a building, can detect even a car plate six kilometres away.

On Malaysian-based Vivos’ simple home automation, it is considered one of the most user-friendly products which can also control lighting and aircon in the building.

Camnix’s next seminar will be held at Miri on May 18. For more information on Camnix’s offerings, please call 082- 420868.
