Welfare of Sarawakian­s still state govt’s priority — DCM

LIMBANG: The state government will continue to put the welfare of Sarawakian­s as the priority on its agenda, even with the country being under Pakatan Harapan ( PH) rule.

In giving this assurance, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan says all developmen­t policies and initiative­s that have been announced would proceed as planned.

“The planned projects and developmen­ts, which were approved under ( state) elected representa­tives and ministries, would continue,” he spoke at the presentati­on of Hari Raya assistance from Limbang District Islamic Welfare Trust Board ( Lakil) to local mosque and surau officials, single mothers and orphans at the civic centre here yesterday.

Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Assistant Minister of Agricultur­e Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail who is Bukit Kota assemblyma­n, Batu Danau assemblyma­n Paulus Palu Gumbang, Limbang Resident Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) Limbang director Junidi Lamat and Lakil treasurer Mahmud Amit witnessed the ceremony.

assured Sarawakian­s that the present state government would strive to become ‘an opposition government with good governance and dignity’.

“Apart from developmen­t as well as meeting the needs and welfare of the people, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg strives to uphold the initiative­s to reclaim the rights of Sarawak and Sarawakian­s.

“In this regard, the federal government also holds the responsibi­lity to help the people, including Sarawakian­s, based on the federal constituti­on,” he said.

Awang Tengah led the presentati­on of Lakil assistance to 166 single mothers, 82 orphans and 210 mosque and surau officials from across this district.
