Perodua offers GST refund in cash ahead of June 1
KUALA LUMPUR: Perusahaan Otomobil KeduaSdnBhd(Perodua) will fully reimburse the Goods and Services Tax (GST) to customers who buy a new Perodua vehicle, service their Perodua vehicle or purchase parts between May 18 and May 31, 2018, ahead of the zero-rated GST implementation on June 1.
Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said the carmaker would fully refund the GST amount in cash to customers on registration or servicing of their vehicles as well as on parts purchase.
From today, Perodua's customers will receive an instant six per cent cash rebate for vehicles serviced.
“This GST rebate initiative represents our commitment to customers to always place them first in everything we do.
"Please visit any of our 179 authorised sales outlets nationwide to learn more,” Zahari said in a statement yesterday.
He added the GST rebate was Perodua's own initiative and hoped the customers would take advantage of this at both its sales and service outlets.
For customers who made transactions at any of its service centres yesterday, Perodua will reimburse them in the form of evouchers, valid from June 1.
The GST rebate amounts are based on the vehicles' nett selling price without GearUp accessories, insurance and other selling expenses. — Bernama
