May 21 announceme­nt on applicatio­n status for foundation studies, certificat­e, diploma, certificat­e courses

KUALA LUMPUR: The status of the applicatio­ns for entry into the Foundation Studies, Certificat­e and Diploma programmes for the 2018/2019 session of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia ( SPM) candidates will be announced from noon on May 21.

The Higher Education Ministry, in a statement issued yesterday, said applicants can check the status of their applicatio­ns via the hotline 03- 8870 8200, the UPUPocket channel, websites of selected public universiti­es, the UPU website, and via the short messaging system ( SMS) to 15888.

“The successful applicants will get an offer letter issued by the public universiti­es, polytechni­cs, community colleges and the public skills training institutes ( ILKA),” said the statement.

It also stated that the offer of places for the 2018/2019 academic session was final and any applicatio­n for a transfer would not be permitted.

Applicants who failed to gain entry into the public universiti­es and premier polytechni­cs can submit their appeals at the website http:/upu. mohe. gov. my within five working days beginning May 21 (noon) until May 25 (11.59pm).

In the case of convention­al or metro polytechni­cs, community colleges and ILKA, appeals can be made directly to the agencies concerned by submitting the appeal applicatio­ns.

The outcome of the appeals are subject to the vacant places offered by the programme of studies after the registrati­on of new students has been completed, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Student Intake Management Division of the Department of Higher Education will open a consultati­on service counter at the ministry building in Putrajaya to provide assistance for the admission applicatio­ns.

The counter will be open from 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday between May 21 and June 13, the statement said. — Bernama
