Sibuti MP says ‘thank you’ for annual allocation
MIRI: The giving of annual allocation to Barisan Nasional (BN) members of parliament by the state BN is very well received by the people.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the allocations would be used to assist the MPs to develop their respective constituencies, and run their service centres.
Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni thanked the chief minister for the allocation, and pledged to fully utilise the amount for continuous development in the constituency.
The state government will give each MP an annual allocation of RM1 million for minor rural project (MRP) grant, RM5 million for rural transformation programme (RTP), and RM250,000 a year to run their service centre.
“The ability of the state government to give out such fund proves that the state is welladministered.
“The allocation will enable us to carry out beneficial projects and also to continue on-going projects in the respective constituencies.

He added that Lambir and Bekenu, the two state seats under Sibuti, had in fact been receiving allocations from the state government each year.
An Iban community leader Pemanca Wilson Siang Lim, meanwhile thanked the chief minister for putting aside funds for the BN MPs so that they could help the people of Sarawak.
He hoped that the new federal government of Pakatan Harapan (PH) would consider putting aside some funds to carry out development in Sarawak.
He also hoped that the federal PH government would honour its promises listed under its election manifesto.
