Ten beauties enter Kumang Gawai Dayak final
SIBU: Ten beauties have cruised into the final of the Sibu Division Kumang Gawai Dayak competition to be held at the civi centre here on May 26 at 7pm.
The competition is held in conjunction with the Sibu Division Pre-Gawai celebration dinner 2018 organised by Sarawak Dayak National Union Sibu and Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sibu.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has been invited to be the guest-ofhonour. The ten finalists were selected from a preliminary session involving 20 beauties held at the premises of SDNU/SIDS Sibu in Wong King Huo Road here.
The finalists are Rebecca Jane Jemeb, Mcqueen Menti Entry, Wati Assan, Maliyana Maradi, Sharon Mathew, Christina Ringgit, Valerie Michelle Alli, Cinderella Simong, Terrina Rosser Mujah and Florence Jega Jungan.
They are chosen based on beauty, body mass and height by a panel of jury comprising SDNU Sibu Exco member Raymond Menjang, advisor of SIDS Sibu Catherine Nain Abit and deputy chairperson of SIDS Sibu Monica Giri.
The champion will receive RM1,500, first runner-up (RM1,200), second runner-up (RM1,000) among other prizes.
The fourth and fifth placings will walk away with RM300 and RM250 respectively.
The other five finalists will each receive RM150 as consolation prize.
