Bukan Lawan Nya on a double quest

- By Scoop

KUCHING: Bukan Lawan Nya can follow up on his impressive last start win by galloping away with a double in Race Four (Class II – 1000M) at the Mile 8 Penrissen course here this morning.

The eight-year-old was shouted the winner a long out on the first weekend, striding to the winning post by distance to underline his chances for a second straight win today.

With Jasmi Kamar in the saddle and a good No. 3 marble, the Beraya Stable’s roan racer is the pick among the six stablemates in the race. He should take a lot of beating.

Rambo (Roslan Bujang) and Storm Raider (Othman Putit) should give chase.

Beaten favourite King De Lago (Jasmi Kamar) can step up from his bridesmaid role in his debut last start to register a maiden win in Race Three (Class III – 1000M).

The six-year-old found one to beat in Peace Pipe last week but can make amends with the benefit of the run under his belt.

With usual jockey Jasmi Kamar up and a safe No. 4 barrier draw, the Beraya Stable’s newcomer can make the winner’s circle in the second time of asking.

Peace Pipe (Roslan Bujang) who hacked up for a comfortable win last week, is also in with a bright chance.

The game nine-year-old can complete a double for the meeting with a repeat performance today. He should figure prominently at the finish.

Give Geronimo (Othman Putit) another chance.

The seven-year-old brought up the rear last week but nicely drawn next to the rails and with class on his side, a different jockey astride and a handy 53 kg, the W Stable’s former Class One racer can finish in the money.

Last start winner Volcano (Mazlan Bujang) is the other danger.

Race Five (Class One -- 1000M) may be cancelled as the field is left with three runners after four scratchings.
