Resolving NCR issues, RTP top priority, says Uggah

-

Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah says one of the state government’s top priorities is to move the Pemakai Menoa ( PM) and Pulau Galau ( PG) amendment Bill in the State Legislative assembly in July.

“Much was discussed in social media on issue of amendment of land code on PM/ PG. I wish to further reassure everyone that the relevant amendment of land code on PM/ PG will be tabled in the coming DUN sitting in July. The state government had announced a number of times that the amendment will be in DUN sitting in July,” he said in his Gawai message yesterday.

He added that another top priority for the state government is to implement its transformation programme especially the Rural Transformation Program ( RTP).

“RTP is the program to address regional development disparities which include upgrading rural infrastructure such as electricity, water supply, kampung road, construction of more telecommunication tower and mordenisation of Agriculture toward precision farming.”

Uggah who is also, Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development stressed that although there is change in federal government after the just concluded General Election, Barisan Nasional is still the state government in Sarawak.

“We respect the decision of the people but in Sarawak BN under leadership of Datuk PatinggiAbgJohari is still the legitimate government,” he stressed.

Uggah hoped this Gawai will be an opportunity for Sarawakians to preservethe state’s racial and religious harmony with our practice of open house.

“Finally let me wish all Dayak Selamat Menyambut Hari Gawai 2018, gayu guru gerai nyamai lantang senang,” he concluded.

Uggah will be celebrating Gawai Dayak in his longhouse in Penom, Ulu Paku, Spaoh.
