Reassuring words from Putrajaya

CM affirms collaborat­ion between federal and state government, implementa­tion of developmen­t projects in the state

KUCHING: Top federal leaders will collaborat­e with the Sarawak government on administra­tion matters.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said this while reiteratin­g that the state government will work with the federal government.

“The top leadership in federal has given me the assurance to collaborat­e. Malaysia is a strong nation and Malaysia is a country that needs good and stable governance. Sarawak will help them,” he said.

Abang Johari highlighte­d this at a programme to give away Bubur Lambuk and Bubur Pedas at the mini waterfront of Kampung Bintangor Kecil in Satok here yesterday.

The state government, he added, will continue to implement developmen­t programmes for Sarawak.

“As such, people don’t have to worry and be overly concerned. We are thankful that Sarawak has abundance of resources which must be properly managed to continue our developmen­t for the future of Sarawak,” he urged.

During a brief interview later, he denied that there have been talks between him and Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed on relationsh­ip between federal and state government following a courtesy call to the Prime Minister’s Office last Thursday.

“No, we didn’t discuss anything. It was just a courtesy call from the state government,” he revealed.
