CM affirms collaboration between federal and state government, implementation of development projects in the state
KUCHING: Top federal leaders will collaborate with the Sarawak government on administration matters.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said this while reiterating that the state government will work with the federal government.
“The top leadership in federal has given me the assurance to collaborate. Malaysia is a strong nation and Malaysia is a country that needs good and stable governance. Sarawak will help them,” he said.
Abang Johari highlighted this at a programme to give away Bubur Lambuk and Bubur Pedas at the mini waterfront of Kampung Bintangor Kecil in Satok here yesterday.
The state government, he added, will continue to implement development programmes for Sarawak.
“As such, people don’t have to worry and be overly concerned. We are thankful that Sarawak has abundance of resources which must be properly managed to continue our development for the future of Sarawak,” he urged.
During a brief interview later, he denied that there have been talks between him and Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed on relationship between federal and state government following a courtesy call to the Prime Minister’s Office last Thursday.
“No, we didn’t discuss anything. It was just a courtesy call from the state government,” he revealed.
