UPP Pujut further enhances e-Kasih programme

-

MIRI: United People’s Party ( UPP) Pujut branch has stepped up its existing welfare programme of e- Kasih registration through its Mobile Action Team ( MAT) programme.

According to branch chairman Bruce Chai, the initiative seeks to ensure that deserving people are able to benefit from welfare assistance under e-Kasih.

“We have received a lot of applications during our previous MAT programme at several areas particularly from the villages such as Kampung Piasau Utara.

“With the good response, we plan to conduct mass registration for e- Kasih registration after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season,” he told The Borneo Post when met at their branch MAT programme at Kampung Piasau Utara Fish Market yesterday.

He was happy to note that the people particular those in the targeted low-income group were aware that e- Kasih is actually more than just a welfare aid programme in the form of cash.

“Apart from financial assistance, the recipients can also apply for other aid such as those for human capital, education, food as well as rebuilding of or repair works on dilapidated houses.

“It is a programme that helps the registered recipients to bring themselves out of the vicious poverty cycle,” he explained.

“Today’s programme is very fruitful where we have received at least 13 applications on eKasih registration. Most of these applicants applied for other business- related assistance programme, which they hoped to uplift their living standard.”

UPP Pujut had promised the applicants of its consistent commitment in following up on their applications case by case.
