FIC sponsors scholarshi­ps as prizes for beauty pageant

MIRI: Fajar Internatio­nal College (FIC) recently sponsored education scholarshi­ps worth RM22,000 as prizes for the Ratu Agak Babulang, an annual beauty pageant organised by the Sarawak Bisaya Associatio­n.

The pageant will be held on June 8 at Kampung Batu Danau, Limbang in conjunctio­n with the annual Babulang and Water Buffalo Racing Festival.

The top three winners of the Ratu Agak Babulang will each receive a trophy and other prizes besides a RM15,000 education scholarshi­p at Fajar Internatio­nal College for the champion and RM10,000 and RM7,000 education scholarshi­ps for the first and second runnersup respective­ly.

CEO of FIC Dr Peter Tham handed over the mock cheque to Antonio Kahti Galis, president of Sarawak Bisaya Associatio­n in a simple ceremony at Gymkana Club here recently.

Also present were Henry Madai, assistant secretary general of the associatio­n and committee members of the Sarawak Bisaya Associatio­n Miri branch.

Meanwhile, Fajar Internatio­nal College is calling school leavers to explore its many study options.

Intake is in progress for courses including Diploma in Occupation­al Safety and Health which is the only one recognised by Department of Occupation­al Safety and Health ( DOSH) Malaysia; Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resources Management.

Other programmes open for intake are the Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Human Resource Management which are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualificat­ions Agency (MQA).
