Teen riders succumb to injuries after crash
MIRI: Two teen motorcyclists died after their motorcycles crashed into each other at Rangau junction, near Limbang Airport road in Limbang around 9.30pm Monday.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said in a statement yesterday that the motorcyclists were identified as Mohammad Azlan Abdul Hamid, 18, and Harreild Hellvian Hary, 16.“Muhammad Azlan, who was coming from the direction of city centre heading towards Limbang Airport, collided into Harreild’s machine, which suddenly came out of a junction.
“Both motorcyclists sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Limbang Hospital,” said Alexson.
Muhammad Azlan passed away around 11.30pm Monday, while Harreild was pronounced dead at 3.45am yesterday.
Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road

In a separate incident, a cement truck was destroyed after it caught fire at KM100 MiriBintulu coastal road around 5.30pm Monday.
A statement from the Fire and Rescue Department ( Bomba) here said a team of seven personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 5.30pm.
When they arrived, the back portion of the truck was already completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire has yet to be established.
