SARIKEI: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Mandarin Repok chapter was part of the JCI Malaysia (JCIM) contingent which recently won five of 18 awards in the 2018 Asia- Pacific Conference held in Kagoshima, Japan.

Chapter president Stella Law said apart from bagging the Best National Growth and Development Programme award and emerging champion in a debate contest, the national JCI contingent won the Best Local Peace Project award through JCI Tanjung Aru; Most Outstanding New Local Organisation ( JCI Nibong Tebal) and Most Outstanding New Member ( David Lim of JCI Iskandar).

The event, hosted by JCI Kagoshima from May 24 to 27, gathered some 8,000 JCI members from 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, she said.

While proud with the team’s achievement, she and fellow JCI Mandarin Repok members considered their participation as a valuable experience and exposure.

“I believe members of the JCIM team, including JCI Mandarin Repok 2015 president Mariana Ling and myself, have exchanged a lot of new ideas and experience with colleagues from other countries which they would like to share with their respective local members,” she added.

Calling on more locals to join the movement, Law said that JCI is an international organisation for those aged 18 to 40.

It encourages young people to serve the society and create undertakings, she stressed.

Those interested to join JCI Mandarin Repok can contact Law on 016- 8805894.
