18 goods under festive price scheme in Bintulu

BINTULU: The Domestic Trade, Cooperativ­es and Consumeris­m Ministry ( KPDNKK) Bintulu branch yesterday announced 18 essential festive goods under the Price Control Scheme in conjunctio­n with Hari Raya Aidilfitri for Bintulu, Tatau and Sebauh.

The scheme which would be implemente­d for 15 days under the Price Control and AntiProfit­eering Act 2011 starts today (June 8) until June 22.

The 18 essential goods are live chicken (wholesale RM6 per kg/ retail RM6.70 per kg); standard chicken ( RM7.60/ RM8.50); super chicken ( RM8.50/ RM9.50); imported beef ( RM25/ RM27); chicken egg grade A ( RM0.37/ RM0.39); chicken egg grade B ( RM0.36/ RM0.38); chicken egg grade C ( RM0.35/ RM0.37); red chilli (RM15/ RM17); tomato (RM6/ RM7); imported round cabbage ( RM3/ RM4); whole coconut (wholesale RM1.30); grated coconut (retail RM5); shallot ( RM5/ RM6); imported onion (RM3.50/ RM4.50); garlic ( RM6.50/ RM8); imported potato ( RM3/ RM4); Indian mackerel ( RM10/ RM11) and scad fish ( RM7/ RM9).

Traders are reminded to affix pink coloured labels indicating the price per unit or per unit weight, the name describing the said goods and the grade or quality, if any of such price- controlled goods, and they were also warned not to sell such goods above the determined maximum price.

Failure to comply is an offence under the Price Control and AntiProfit­eering Act 2011.

KPDNKK enforcemen­t officers will be monitoring closely several locations to prevent traders from raising the price of goods and ensure the supply of controlled items is adequate.
